We’ve waited long enough for good weather in Paris, so now it’s time to profit from every last ray of sun that shines over the city. After a wonderful afternoon window-shopping in Bercy Village and wandering through the picturesque Parc de Bercy last weekend, my friends and I crossed the contemporary Simone-de-Beauvoir footbridge and got drinks at La Vagalame.
I felt like we’d been transplanted to a bar on the Hudson River in New York City. La Vagalame is situated along the river in the 13th arrondissement, where classic French architecture is replaced with modern high-rises and design. The outdoor bar and restaurant features an open roof terrace and lounge areas – the perfect place to park on a sunny day.
We spent the afternoon laying back in our beach chairs and sipping on margaritas au bord de l’eau. If you’re looking for a beach in Paris, don’t miss La Vagalame. I can’t wait to return for sunset cocktails and see what the place turns into when the sun goes down.
