Tea at Ladurée

I’m no stranger to the Ladurée experience in Paris. For years I’ve found myself staring through the glass at the delicate assortment of fine pastries and macarons. While it’s fun to pick and choose sweet pillows of heaven to-go, I’ve always yearned to feel bourgeois and take a seat in the salon du thé.

The recent monsoon sweeping through Paris has left city dwellers ducking inside for cover. Instead of the usual café crème break last week, my friends and I decided to tap into our posh side and have tea at Ladurée. I’ve never felt more prim and proper than I did seated on a plush velvet couch indulging in delicious tea and pastries served on the tea room’s signature pastel china. Ah, the finer things in life…
