Another weekday afternoon, another lunch date with Powell. This time at Le Loir dans la Théière in the Marais.
We originally just wanted coffee and a slice of the restaurant’s acclaimed lemon meringue pie. Since it was lunch hour, I was suddenly swayed by the regular menu and ordered a spinach and camembert tart. Powell just wanted coffee, but was turned down and told that food was obligatory during lunchtime. This peeved us both, but we carried on.
Le Loir dans la Théière is a cool place. The walls are plastered with posters, the dessert table is stocked with sweet sugary goodness and the couches look comfortable enough to sleep on. It would be an ideal blogging spot if it weren’t for the lack on wifi and strict food-only hours. I loved my tart and will come back again for a slice of that pie.
