Le Polidor

I don’t know why it has taken me months to finally post about one of my favorite Parisian establishments, Le Polidor. You may recognize the interior from the film, Midnight in Paris when Owen Wilson’s character meets Hemingway for the first time. Open since 1845, the restaurant transports you back in time the second  you cross the curtain into the dining room. Everything from the old-school decor to the hole-in-the-ground toilet takes you back to old Paris. Did I mention the amazing food? The menu here is about as traditional as it gets – no-frills, straightforward French cuisine.

Two recommendations for a successful meal at Le Polidor:

  • Bring cash (no credit cards accepted)
  • Order the suprême de poulet (chicken with mashed potatoes in a mind-blowing sauce)
