A Christmas Eve Twist: Dinner at Nan Thai Fine Dining

Since I can remember, my family has celebrated Christmas Eve a little different than most. We spend the day wrapping last minute gifts and attend an evening church service like many other families do. At dinnertime, however, we always gather at our favorite Chinese restaurant for a big feast of our family’s favorite cuisine.

This year we decided to switch it up a bit. No, we didn’t give into Christmas Eve normalcy — we still had Asian on the brain — but instead of our traditional spot, we went the more upscale, exotic route. We chose to dine at Nan Thai Fine Dining in midtown Atlanta.

In a nutshell, Nan was quite the step-up from our usual poo poo platter at China Moon. The price tag on the dishes were well worth it. The five of us shared an assortment of plates, ranging from panang curry to pineapple fried rice (that was served in a real pineapple, I might add!) I would suggest doing the same if you ever dine at Nan. Even with six different dishes on our table, there were still a million that I wanted to try!

At Nan, taste goes hand-in-hand with presentation. Relive my Christmas Eve with these scrumptious pictures…

Pla Muk Thod (crispy calamari with three flavored chili sauce)

Crispy vegetable spring rolls

Panang curry with chicken

Kra Pow Nuca (sliced beef tenderloin dish)

Individual pots of white, sticky rice

Pineapple chicken fried rice

Kra Pow Kung (jumbo sauteed prawns)

My (very full) plate
