The Burrito King

Ask any Atlantan and they’ll tell you that the best burrito in town — well, in the world — can be found at Willy’s. With 15 locations around the Atlanta and Athens area, this “Mexicana Grill” has established a firm following by offering the freshest and tastiest ingredients. It’d be a sin NOT to stop by this local hotspot when you visit Hot’lanta.

Every time I’ve been away from home, Willy’s has always been my first stop back in town. My dad even brought it to the airport for me when I returned from a semester in Paris. I missed it THAT much. To all of you who swear by Moe’s, Chipotle, Qdoba, etc., prepare to be converted because Willy’s will blow your mind. The cheese dip is a bowl of silky heaven; the chips are golden, light and crispy; the ingredients taste like they’ve just been plucked from the ground; and nothing tastes over-cooked or over-seasoned. Basically, it’s perfection.

Fear not, non-burrito lovers! Willy’s also offers quesadillas, tacos, salads, nachos and beer. Anyway you have it, you won’t leave disappointed. I tend to switch up my order, however, I can’t deny a Willy’s burrito. Below is my go-to recipe for the perfect one.

Caroline’s Go-to ‘Rito Recipe:

  • Sinaloa chicken (mild)
  • Rice
  • Black beans
  • Grilled green peppers/onions mixture
  • Cheese dip
  • Lettuce
  • Sour cream
  • Corn salsa
  • Tomatillo salsa
  • Cilantro
