A few weeks back, I stepped into a time machine and traveled into the future to a place called Food Parc.
Okay, not really. But I did step into — what I believe to be — the future of restaurants. Don’t worry, there was no “Zenon, Girl of the 21st Century” school cafeteria weirdness. But Food Parc is definitely different. There are six “eateries” inside that you can choose from.
- BeerParc (beer)
- RedFarm Stand (dumplings, dim sum, other Asian-inspired food)
- Fornetti (pasta, sandwiches, salads)
- 3Bs (bacon, burgers, beer)
- The Press (coffee)
- Quality Greens (salad)
Clearly this place has anything you could ever want for breakfast, lunch or dinner. But the real kicker is how you place our order. There’s no waiter, no cashier, just a computer. And right when you think it’s odd (and super convenient) that you’re typing in your order, the screen asks you for a phone number to text you when it’s ready. So I did it. And they texted me. And I got this…
What’s better than carbs ON TOP OF carbs? Nothing. All I have to say is God bless the mastermind behind this creation. The best part is the end when the flatbread is soaked with vodka sauce. I definitely recommend sharing this item with a friend, which thankfully I did. It’s HUGE (and delicious!)
I just hope that this pasta-on-pizza concept comes without calories 30 years from now…
