“I’m fixin’ to meet Peter at the perk…”

This past Saturday I spent my day the way I always pictured New Yorkers spending theirs…in Central Park. As some of the only people left in the city over the 4th, Jess and I decided to celebrate our time lounging on a blanket and having a picnic in Central Park’s Sheep’s Meadow.

If you enter Central Park from Columbus Circle, which I highly recommend, stopping by Whole Foods is an absolute must. We popped down and bought an array of goodies perfect for picnicking in the park. On the menu: a small baguette, a pre-packaged caprese salad (tomato, mozzarella, basil) and a container of berries and kiwi. It was heaven on a blanket as we munched away our afternoon while soaking up the sun and catching up on some reading and gossip.

Check out Jess’ “recipe” to a perfect day at the park here.
