bienvenue mes amis…

Well folks, I finally did it — I made a food blog. As many of my dear family and friends know, I love food. I love eating it, finding it, cooking it, tasting it, looking at it, touching it, smelling it, drooling over it,creating it, drinking it– you could say that I’m obsessed.

So that’s why I started this blog. Last fall, while I was studying abroad in Paris (aka the food capital of the world), I kept a blog. Since then, I’ve missed it. With the idea from my good friend Caroline, I decided this would be the perfect way to fill the empty void and write about something that I love.

I chose the name pamplemousse because it is my favorite French word. Although it means grapefruit in English, and I’m not the BIGGEST fan of the fruit, I think it fits. Not only do I love and worship French cuisine but I absolutely adore the language. Nothing is more fitting for my own food blog. Doesn’t it have a nice ring to it? I think so. It’s pronounced “pomp-lay-muus” for those of you qui ne comprend pas le francais. It only someone hadn’t already stolen it as a part of their web address — a blog that hasn’t even been published. Meh!

Let’s just hope this blog lasts longer than Plyler in Paris. I actually have no doubt that it will…
